介绍IELTS

TheInternationalEnglishLanguageTestingSystem,orIELTS™/ˈaɪ.ɛlts/,isaninternationalstandardizedtestofEnglishlanguageproficiencyfornon-nativeEnglishlanguagespeakers.ItisjointlymanagedbytheBritishCouncil,IDP:IELTSAustraliaandCambridgeAssessmentEnglish,andwasestablishedin1989.IELTSisoneofthemajorEnglish-languagetestsintheworld,othersbeingtheTOEFL,TOEIC,PTE:A,andOPI/OPIc.

IELTSisacceptedbymostAustralian,British,CanadianandNewZealandacademicinstitutions,byover3,000academicinstitutionsintheUnitedStates,andbyvariousprofessionalorganisationsacrosstheworld.

IELTSistheonlySecureEnglishLanguageTestapprovedbyUKVisasandImmigration(UKVI)forvisacustomersapplyingbothoutsideandinsidetheUK.ItalsomeetsrequirementsforimmigrationtoAustralia,whereTOEFLandPearsonTestofEnglishAcademicarealsoaccepted,andNewZealand.InCanada,IELTS,TEF,orCELPIPareacceptedbytheimmigrationauthority.

Nominimumscoreisrequiredtopassthetest.AnIELTSresultorTestReportFormisissuedtoalltesttakerswithascorefrom"band1"("non-user")to"band9"("expertuser")andeachinstitutionsetsadifferentthreshold.Thereisalsoa"band0"scoreforthosewhodidnotattemptthetest.Institutionsareadvisednottoconsiderareportolderthantwoyearstobevalid,unlesstheuserprovesthattheyhaveworkedtomaintaintheirlevel.
